There was a time when people didn't even think about their weight or their health like we do today.
At that time, the same foods did not exist all year round, only seasonal fruits or vegetables were consumed. There was no fast or processed food and all food was prepared at home. And eating away from home in a restaurant was something very sporadic.
Certainly, the "progress" of today has made life easier for us... and as a well-known saying goes, what makes you easier, weakens you...
That comfort is passing us a high bill. Today we have so much and so many options that it is incredible that the least healthy options are the most consumed, but it is the reality. A person in the '70s, '80s, and '90s consumed an average of 1 kilo of sugar per year, Today a person in the 2000s consumes 1 kilo of sugar per month... It is not difficult to deduce why we are inflamed and obese.
And weight is the main factor that most of us consider the most determining factor of good health. And in part it is. However, we must understand that weight is the least reliable of the health variables in reality. There are people at their ideal weight with serious health problems that their weight does not manifest. There are also people with low weight in good health.
We must remove the focus from weight, start counting calories and take care of silent enemies camouflaged with the name of "food". These silent enemies are slowly poisoning us from within. It is clear that modern life is not making us healthier and freer. On the contrary, we are dependent on chemical substances and controlled by all means.
